C.J. Stroud Foundation Sends 7 Space City Church Students to Summer Camp

During the summer offseason, most football players are focused on hosting camps to help young athletes grow stronger and faster. But Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud is making sure youth are growing spiritually, too! Specifically those connected to Space City Church in Houston, TX.

Earlier this year, Pastor Von Won of Space City Church had the honor of leading chapel for the Houston Texans just before their thrilling 4th-quarter comeback win against the Jacksonville Jaguars. According to Stroud, it was Pastor Von Won’s powerful and inspiring message that helped fuel the team’s victory.

That connection came full circle when Pastor Von Won later reached out to the C.J. Stroud Foundation to request help with funding for students to attend church camp this summer. The response came swiftly from Kimberly Stroud, C.J.’s mother and president of the foundation, who offered to sponsor seven students, symbolically honoring her son, who wears jersey #7.

Thanks to their generous support, Space City Church is sending more than 40 students and leaders to the North Texas Assemblies of God Summer Camp in Waxahachie, TX. There, they will join over 500 other campers from across the state for a life-changing week of faith, friendship, and spiritual growth.

Space City Church is a mission-minded ministry with a heart for reaching urban youth and a passion for helping them come to know Christ. As the buses pull away today, filled with excitement and expectation, the students go knowing that someone as influential as C.J. Stroud, and his family, is investing in their spiritual journey.

We are incredibly grateful for the partnership and heart of the C.J. Stroud Foundation. Their impact extends far beyond the football field, straight into the lives and futures of the next generation.
